Everything you need to know about joining VBCC
Becoming a Member
We welcome anyone with an interest in cycling, whether that’s an occasional steady ride to a cafe for a cuppa or a cycling obsessed racing snake, and everything in-between! It’s having the right attitude that really matters.
As a club we pride ourselves on making everyone feel included and supported and try our best to offer a range of rides to suit most abilities without judgement or cycling snobbery!
Before committing to joining we encourage you to give one of our rides a try. The best way to find out which ride would suit your ability is to get in touch and we will be happy to point you in the right direction.
Expectations of Members
VBCC is run by club members on a voluntary basis and we encourage all of our members to get involved and help out whenever they can. This might include helping to host a ride, organise an event, bake cakes for an our annual charity ride or just cheer on one of your fellow members taking on a cycling challenge.
Our club is only as successful as our members make it!
We expect our members to be considerate of everyone who shares the road and we have a zero tolerance policy on aggressive and intimidating behaviour. When you ride with the club we want everyone to feel safe, supported and happy.
Cost of Membership
For 2024, VBCC will manage all membership payments via the BRITISH CYCLING website. You do not need to be a BRITISH CYCLING member in order to pay via their website and we do this in order to help us to have accurate membership details. Your details are managed in a fully GDPR compliant manner. The cost is a bargain at a total annual fee of £16 which runs from 1st January to 31st December. You will then be given access to our closed Facebook group where you will get to see everything that is going on, including the large selection of weekly rides.
Your membership money goes towards general admin, including this website, club kit samples, and subsidises cycling and social events. We provide full transparency on spending which is detailed in our annual AGM.
When you become a member you will also enjoy the benefit of a 15% discount with our local bike repair and maintenance man, Paul from Bishop Cycles.
Clicking the button below will navigate you to a separate payment page.
